I don't know if this counts as a tool, but my favorite thing in the kitchen is my Edge Brownie pan. I don't know why no one thought of this sooner. If you're a fan of the brownies because of the crusty parts at the edge, then this pan's for you. Every piece cut out will be an edge piece. It's easy to clean, non-stick, and oven-safe!
I sound like an advertisement, but I got it as a wedding gift, and I've used it to bake some very very delicious brownies.
I received a nut chopper as a gift one year. I really appreciated it because I hate chopping nuts using a knife, they seem to scatter all over the place.
